memorial day-2013   flags-in 2013

As part of honoring veterans of our Armed Forces, third graders at Memorial School placed flags near the headstones of veterans.  Fourth and fifth graders honored community veterans during the annual Memorial Day Assembly.  Thank you, Veterans, for your service to the United States of America.

Sanborn Family School Partnership ~  May 29th

Please join us on May 29th at 7pm in the Sanborn Region High School Library as we get together for our kick off meeting!

The Sanborn Family School Partnership is a parent-led group working in cooperation with the Sanborn Regional School District. Our mission is to get parents together in a positive and supportive environment where they can make connections, share resources, and learn new things about the world of Special Education. Through communication and education we hope to connect families and schools in ways that help support and improve  the lives and education of children with unique challenges.

NH Connections will join us as we talk with Jennifer Pomykato, Sanborn Regional School District Director of Student Services, about initiatives and how the group can best meet the needs of our community. We want to hear your ideas and suggestions, so please come and enjoy some snacks, networking, and a short film as we get this collaboration going.

All parents, school personnel and interested community members are welcome to attend.

Please contact Julie Blomberg at 603-382-4335 for further information or questions.

 A Message from the Principal:

In an effort to continue to find additional ways to communicate information to everyone, I would like to share a blog site with you that I have recently created. Please visit: jonvanderels.wordpress.com to read a bit more about my perspective on various educational topics.  My first post is in relation to the ongoing work our Memorial staff is doing in their Professional Learning Communities. Memorial School’s recognition in the fall as an exemplar PLC in the nation was the impetus for this post, as I wanted to provide an overview of some of what this work entailed (and continues to entail) for our entire staff.  I will let everyone know when our blog is updated through our newsletter, Facebook, and our web-site (www.sau17.org) Thank you for visiting my blog, and please let me know if you have any questions.
